There will be a fair amount of dog-friendly baseball during the 2019 season.
Baseball is as American as apple pie, Thomas Edison, or an over-reliance on cars. After all, it’s basically a type of fetch, right?
While Minor League Baseball teams have team dogs (the Frisco RoughRiders have Brooks, the Trenton Thunder have Rookie, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans have Slider, for example), the major leagues are a little behind in this area (though dogs are welcome to visit during Spring Training, as the Philadelphia Phillies recently demonstrated).
However, the following Major League Baseball teams will have dog-friendly days at the ballpark, according to the American Kennel Club.
Most of the teams seem to be National League organizations for some reason.
The Arizona Diamondbacks will welcome doggos to Chase Field on May 10.
Good boys and girls can see the Atlanta Braves at SunTrust Park on April 7.
The Kansas City Royals know that all dogs are the greatest, and they’re welcome to visit Kauffman Stadium on April 29.
Fireworks are awful for dogs, but those bad memories can be washed away a week later at Miller Park during the Milwaukee Brewers game on July 16.
Maybe your dog could meet the Blues‘ dog Barclay when they visit the St Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium on May 25.
The oldest professional sports team, the Cincinnati Reds, will welcome canines to the Great American Ball Park on April 25, May 14, June 17 or September 3.
The New York Mets say Citi Field is canine-friendly on April 22, May 21 and September 26.
The home of the Seattle Mariners, T-Mobile Park, is ready for doggos on April 14, May 28, July 22 and September 12.
The Washington Nationals have a ton of DC dogs to enjoy: they can come to Nationals Park, located just off the Potomac River, on March 31, April 27, May 26, June 13, September 13 and September 28.
The Pittsburgh Pirates top even the Nationals when it comes to getting Pitt pooches into PNC Park – EVERY Tuesday home game is dog friendly.
While attending the game with your dog, please follow the rules, stay in the designated areas to be courteous to those with allergies, and clean up after yourselves.
