Dallas’ Cotton Bowl Stadium is getting transformed into a Dog Bowl. For one day only, dog lovers will be able to experience a giant dog park.

Forget Cotton Bowl Stadium, Dallas is getting a Dog Bowl Stadium. At least for one day they are, as the stadium gets a makeover to become a giant dog park. On May 5, the most historic football field in Dallas is getting the ultimate transformation into a place where dog lovers and their furry friends can have some fun and have a ball.

According to the Fair Park website, the Dog Bowl is coming to Dallas for a day, as you have the chance to “spoil your four-legged fur ball with an afternoon of doggy delights inside Fair Park’s Cotton Bowl Stadium.” The massive dog park is also an opportunity to have dogs of all sizes come out for a day of fun as they are allowed to run around off leash.

During the Dallas Dog Bowl, dog lovers can shop products and services offered by local vendors, clubs, and even rescue organizations. Plus, there is an opportunity to adopt a new pup while you are at the Dog Bowl, meaning even if you don’t have a dog when you get to the stadium, you might be leaving with one by the end of the day.

On the main stage, there will be live entertainment. And if you want to commemorate the day of fun, you can have your photo taken with your furry friend in front of a Woofus statue backdrop.

If you find yourself getting hungry, there will be concessions and refreshments, including beer. And your dog is not forgotten, as there will be water stations and giant water bowls for keeping cool and refreshed.

What makes this Dog Bowl dog park so special is that it is more than just a vendor event or the usual dog park on a larger scale. There will also be an agility course for pups with a lot of energy, according to Narcity. Basically, this is a chance to have some fun, socialize with other dog lovers, and even have your pup socializing with other dogs.

Admission to the Dog Bowl is free, although parking will cost $10, which is still a reasonable price for an outing at any fairground. However, you could also take the DART to Fair Park, although any animal that is not a service dog must be in a crate (which may not be fun if that means having to carry the crate around the stadium all afternoon).

Honestly, this sounds like a dog lovers’ dream. This is a chance to meet other people who love dogs, learn more about local dog vendors, and spend an afternoon with your pup at one of the most historic football fields in Dallas. It sounds like a win-win all around.
