Our dogs may not be able to drink real liquor and alcohol, but thanks to a couple from Houston, there is a now a dog beer for our furry friends.

We all know that there are things that our animals can’t eat or drink, even if they are safe for us. And while we may not be upset by the fact that our pups can’t indulge in a beer or a glass of wine with us on a Friday night, that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be fun if they actually could.

It turns out, now our dogs can grab a beer with us after all, thanks to a couple from Texas who have created their very own dog beer. The name of the brand is rather fittingly, Good Boy Dog Beer, and is the creation of Megan and Steve Long from Houston.

According to People Magazine, the couple, who own a bar in Houston, created their Good Boy line in 2018. Not only are the Good Boy brews crafted with your dog in mind, but they are also safe for human consumption. It feels like a bit of a win-win right there. Of course, just because we can drink these beers, doesn’t mean we will want to.

On their website, you can find four specialty brews just for your pups. Each brew features a name that will leave you laughing and wanting to snag one for your dog, just because. Of course there is the Mailman Malt Licker, which is a chicken based drink option. Besides its chicken base, other ingredients that make the Mailman Malt Licker a dog’s must have drink of choice are ginger, cilantro, oranges, fennel, and carrots. Sounds like a delicious soup broth to me.

The other Good Boy Dog Beer flavors available are the Crotch Sniffin’ Ale, the Session Squirrel, and the IPA lot in the Yard. Each of the brews features a different base flavor, with the IPA being a pork based beverage, the Sniffin’ Ale being peanut butter based, and the Session being a vegetable base.

While these may sound like they could take the place of a meal, based on the ingredients used, these are not meal replacements. Instead, they are a great way to treat your pup to something special. Plus, if your dog is prone to allergies or any other food sensitivities, this could be a great way to still treat your pup without them having any health issues to worry about.

These may be dog beers, but each brew is free of alcohol, making them the perfect way to treat your good boy. And with fun names that will leave you laughing, you won’t mind having a brew with your favorite furry friend.

If you live in the Houston area, there are a few pubs and stores that offer you the opportunity to pick up a brew for your pup whenever you want one. And if you don’t live in Texas but still want to give your dog a beer, have no fear as the company is offering online sales as well.
