Clifford the Big Red Dog has been given a 2020 release date

There is a Clifford the Big Red Dog movie on the way and now the unnamed movie is even closer to coming together, now that there is an official release date.

Did you know or remember that there is a Clifford the Big Red Dog movie in the works? Well if you had forgotten or weren’t even aware, it looks like that’s about to change now that the studio has announced their official release date for the currently unnamed feature film.

This means that our favorite Scholastic book series is being made into a movie, which is definitely exciting for those of us who have grown up with the lovable red pup who is two-years-old and is as big as a house. Over the years, Clifford has been a staple of both books and TV, as he has been part of an animated series on PBS since 2000.

While we knew a movie was coming (well some of us did), the only thing we knew was that it would be directed by Walt Becker, the man behind Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. However, now we know that the film has a release date in 2020. In fact, according to The Hollywood Reporter the movie is coming out right before the prime holiday season.

The official release date for Clifford the Big Red Dog is scheduled for Nov. 13, 2020, which is just before the relatively lucrative Thanksgiving box office. This could end up being the perfect timing for the movie as it will basically kick off the holiday season, while giving kids the perfect movie to see during the Thanksgiving break.

However, with this new release date, this means that one movie had to pushed further out on the calendar. And the movie that got the boot happens to be the upcoming Rugrats film, which will now release in theaters on Jan. 29, 2021.

We can’t wait to learn even more about the Clifford the Big Red Dog movie. From who will be the stars to what the storyline will be about, we can’t wait to see how this movie comes together. After all, it isn’t often we get a big red dog on our movie screens. And of course, any time we get to see movies about dogs on the big screen we are all on.
