In Maine, two senior shelter dogs have tied the knot. And while the marriage might not be legal, it is clear that these two pups are inseparable.

At the Kennebec Valley Humane Society in Augusta, Maine, there are a pair of senior shelter dogs waiting for their forever home. Jack and Diane are a bonded pair, who were found last year wandering around in a cemetery together.

And this year, the pair of pups were able to tie the knot thanks to the KVHS, which has been caring for the dogs as they wait for someone to decide that they are a perfect fit for their home. On the main site for the Humane Society, a wedding announcement for Jack and Diane was posted that leads you to a page dedicated to the happy couple.

According to their wedding announcement, these two senior shelter dogs have been with the shelter since August 2018, although they were placed in a home for a short time. Unfortunately, the placement did not work out, and these two love birds are waiting to find the right fit for them. As senior pups, these two are looking for a quiet, retired life, that includes plenty of naps and time together.

Much like any other married couple, Jack and Diane are better together than apart. And it has been noted that they get anxious if they are not together for long periods of time. While they can be separated for short periods, such as going on a walk or something, they simply do better when they are together.

The shelter is hoping that their wedding pictures, which can be found on the page with their wedding announcement (as well as in the Instagram post seen above), as well as the news of their nuptials, will help these two senior shelter dogs find the perfect home for them. And as NBC2 News reported, Diane is about 7-years-old, while Jack is about 10-years-old. They would do better in a home that does not have young children, as they are a sedate couple looking to enjoy their retirement years.

As part of the wedding page, people can donate money to the shelter to help dogs like Diane and Jack in finding their new homes. And at this time, the couple is still available for someone to bring home with them.

We love everything about this, from the shelter marrying this happy doggy couple, to using this as a way to bring attention to the shelter. And hopefully, someone will see these pups and decide that they would be a perfect fit in their home.
