Puppy Bowl XV: Twitter reactions to the big game
Puppy Bowl XV got lots of attention from Twitter users this weekend.
Puppy Bowl XV aired on Sunday, February 3, on Animal Planet, and Team Ruff claimed the Chewy.com Lombarky Trophy for the first time in three years after beating Team Fluff by a 59-51 score.
Once again, the parrot Meep was giving fans all the updates.
Our friends at FoodSided and Guilty Eats were really watching for the snacks, and I mean, can you blame them? There are some incredible artistic skills in this video from Food Network.
Emma’s puppers were both dressed for the big game in their team-colored bandannas, but it was a house divided….one of the hazards (and fun parts) of rivalry games.
Tad Cooper and his sister Tigerlily were also divided.
Sky was howling his encouragement and playcalling suggestions at the TV. True fandom, right there.
Marisol’s fakeout full-field run in the second quarter one of several pretty impressive plays.
She came here all the way from Territorio De Zaguates in Costa Rica, which is known as the “Land of the Strays,” and is featured in an episode of the Netflix series Dogs.
Actress Chase Masterson (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) was enthralled by the on-field action.
Tracy had a hard time deciding on which very good dog should get her vote for MVP.
Ultimately the Bissell Most Valuable Puppy Award went to Bumble, an albino, deaf and vision-impaired dog from the Double J Dog Ranch special-needs canine sanctuary in Hauser, Idaho, who booted two field goals in the second quarter and captured the hearts of viewers in doing so.
She captured 65 percent of the votes from viewers in a poll on Animal Planet’s Twitter page.
Christian was not a happy camper after Team Fluff lost.
Denise, on the other hand, was weeping tears of joy with all the highlight videos of the players at their new furever homes.
The actual Super Bowl later in the day was a defensive struggle won by the New England Patriots 13-3 over the Los Angeles Rams in a game with a meager field of good commercials.
We’re already looking forward to Puppy Bowl XVI next year.
