CES 2019 introduces a robot that will interact with your dog
CES 2019 is the place to go for new technology and things to make our lives easier. And with the introduction of the Laika toy robot, even our pups get something.
When it comes to finding new technology, look no further than the Consumer Electronics Show. And at CES 2019, even our dogs are getting new and exciting technology to keep them happy, healthy, and well exercised.
Over the years, we have seen some interesting technology with our pups in mind, such as pet friendly cameras, cameras that hand out treats, and so much more. But perhaps this year is giving us one of the best tech toys yet, the Laika toy robot from CamToy.
According to CNET, at CES 2019, the French company unveiled the Laika which not only follows your pup around, but will also give them treats (and when we say give them, we mean launch them for a bit more fun). It is essentially like having a companion for your pooch, one that also has a pet camera in it so you can see what is going on when needed.
At the size of roughly a butternut squash, the Laika features a microphone to hear what is happening, as well as a speaker so you can talk to your pup as needed. But we all know that the feature that will make this toy robot your pet’s favorite thing is the fact that it also gives out dog treats.
With the help of an app, you can monitor your pup, talk to them, and even play with them, as you can drive the little robot around so that it chases your dog when you want it to. And if you need the robot to be a bit more in control, that’s why there is a mode for that which works with a tracker you can add to your pup’s collar.
You may be your dog’s best friend, but with the Laika in their life you might just have a little competition as this robot gives you a run for your money.
The Laika will run you $460, which actually doesn’t seem that bad when you think about all that the robot can do, on top of being a pet camera. And if you want to snag this for a little cheaper, it is actually on IndieGoGo at this time for $325. Of course, as this is a crowdfunding site, it is important to read all of the fine print first before committing.
What do you think of this new robot for pups? Are you surprised by this new arrival at CES 2019? Would you want a toy robot for your own dog to play with? Tell us what you think in the comments.
