“Hanging with the Hendersons” is a new TV series coming to Animal Planet following a family of vets at their practice.
A singing veterinarian and his family will be the focus of a new Animal Planet TV series titled Hanging with the Hendersons.
Dr. Ross Henderson rose to fame two years ago after a video went viral of him singing the Elvis Presley song “Can’t Help Falling in Love” to calm down a scared patient named Ruby before she had surgery. The clip even merited attention from The Today Show. This is apparently a fairly common practice around the clinic.
Hanging with the Hendersons will showcase the family-owned vet practice of Fox Hollow Animal Hospital, located near Denver in the suburb of Lakewood, Colorado.
“Being a veterinarian is exciting and absolutely terrifying at the same time,” Dr. Ross says in the trailer about his profession. “Working with family makes it about so much more than just the job. – it’s like forever Bring Your Son to Work Day.”
According to Katie Wilkins, Animal Planet publicist, the show will feature Dr. Ross, his brothers Dr. Ryan and Chris the lab tech, their father Dr. Tony and mother Debbie, the clinic’s receptionist, in addition to several family pets who hang around the office on a regular basis.
As the official Animal Planet synopsis for Hanging with the Hendersons states, “It’s all in the family with the Hendersons at Colorado’s Fox Hollow Animal Hospital, where an entreating family of vets has the treating and caring for animals in their DNA. When life is about animals, laughs, hugs and family there’s no telling what each day will bring.”
Judging by the trailer, it’s not all work around the clinic – there’s still time for hula hooping contests and drone racing, and shooting pool when off duty.
Hanging with the Hendersons will premiere on Friday, January 11 at 9 p.m. ET on Animal Planet.
