It’s a holiday miracle! Snapchat has finally made their lenses truly dog friendly, as a new update allows your pup to rock the same antlers as you.

If you are anything like me, you have probably tried using Snapchat lenses on your pooch. Whether they are alone in the picture or taking a selfie with you, it feels like we have all tried to get our dog to rock one of the social media app’s many lenses.

And while we have sometimes managed to get lucky, it seems like we no longer have to struggle to get the antlers just right or the crown to sit on our pup’s head. According to Engadget, it seems that Snapchat has finally decided to let our dogs in on the fun of lenses and filters. In an announcement from the app they shared that, “its camera will recognize dog faces just like it does humans.”

Considering they recently introduced cat friendly lenses, it comes as no surprise that dogs have finally been allowed to join the party. Over the last year, the company has expanded their app’s ability to recognize not only objects, but also faces, such as animals. And it seems like a natural progression for Snapchat lenses to now be dog friendly.

Moving forward there will be what some might consider introductory lenses with the company saying that, “the initial launch will have a handful of pup-friendly lenses.” And it seems that the company is promising that there will be even more on the way, although it may be some time before we see all of these new features.

Now we don’t know about you, but we are extremely excited to start trying these lenses out right away. This means that this holiday season we may end up taking a bunch of selfies with our pup just to see him rocking antlers, a Santa hat, or even a crown or two.
