Raising Cane’s is raising money for pet welfare for the 2018 holiday season.
Each year restaurant Raising Cane’s raises money for pet-welfare causes during the 2018 holiday season, and this year is no different.
For 2018 they are selling a limited-edition plush toy of Frosty the Plush Puppy, which will be available while supplies last from Wednesday, Nov. 19 to Monday, Jan. 2, 2019. It will be $8.99, and would be an excellent stocking stuffer for the dog lover you know (or yourself) this Christmas.
Also, there is a limited-edition 2019 calendar starring the company’s current mascot, Cane III, available for $1.89 while supplies last.
Frosty the Plush Puppy is essentially Cane III dressed as Frosty the Snowman from the 1969 Rankin/Bass Christmas special.
Raising Cane’s was named after the yellow Labrador Retriever who belonged to one of the cofounders, and Cane III is also a yellow Lab, who took over the role of company mascot in January 2018.
All net proceeds from the sales of the plush puppies and calendars will be donated to local pet welfare organizations, which are selected by the restaurant managers.
“We feel strongly about keeping our pets healthy and happy, and we want to help abused, abandoned animals find loving homes. That’s why we give back to organizations dedicated to Pet-welfare,” the company website states.
Cane’s, which specializes in chicken fingers and fries, was founded in 1996 in Baton Rouge, La. The chain is now over 400 locations strong, spread throughout 24 states.
“Our concept is simple and unique… we only have ONE LOVE – quality chicken finger meals! At Raising Cane’s you get an exceptionally high quality product served quickly and conveniently,” the company website states, because they promise to never “clutter our menu with new products that do not fit our core menu offering.”
Cane’s isn’t the only company to get into donating to pet welfare causes this holiday season – Petco is also doing the same thing, with a larger-scale publicity campaign.
