Dog lovers are you looking for a new book series to indulge in? Then look no further than the Cozy Corgi Mystery Series by Mildred Abbott.

We admit we love a good book featuring a dog as a leading character. And if it is a mystery series, that makes it even better. Thanks to the Cozy Corgi Mystery Series by Mildred Abbott we get both of these things, a dog sidekick and well-written mysteries.

The series is set in a small, Colorado town and boasts witty characters, a sassy corgi, fun recipes (it is a cozy mystery after all), and of course a new mystery every book. There are storylines that continue from one book to the next, and we learn something new with each read.

In the first book, Cruel Candy, the stage is set, introducing us to Winifred (Fred) Page and her corgi sidekick Watson (with a name like that you just had to know he would be an amateur detective). And while they have moved to Estes Park, Colorado in order to open a small bookshop and live a quiet life, there is more to this town than meets the eye, including a murder mystery. Before Fred and Winston can truly settle down with their new shop, they will have to break out their detective caps and figure out what is happening in Estes Park.

Since that first book, there have been eight more released, for a total of nine books at this time (although we know a tenth is also on the way). With each book, we have gotten to know Fred and Winston better, while also learning more about this tiny Colorado town and getting delicious recipes to boot. Basically, we have gotten the perfect cozy mystery series and there is a corgi at its heart. What’s not to love about all of that?

And we had the privilege and pleasure of interviewing Mildred Abbott, and finding out more about what goes into these books and what the future holds. We wanted to learn all of the secrets of these mysteries and how a corgi came to be at the heart of these mysteries.

Not only did we learn a lot about Abbott, but also about what goes into writing this series. So, read on to see what the author revealed about writing these books, diving into cozy mysteries, and just how a corgi stole the show.
