Even before Meghan Markle married Prince Harry, she was an avid dog lover with two rescues. And now one of her rescue dogs is the subject of a children’s book.

Are you obsessed with Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex? Did you watch the royal wedding, and fawn over the outfits and little details? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then you probably remember seeing the Duchess’ rescue dog Guy riding with the Queen herself to the wedding.

And if you loved the story of Guy the Beagle when you first heard it, then you are in luck as the newly minted royal dog is now the subject of a children’s book. If you head to Amazon, you can snag your own copy of His Royal Dogness, Guy the Beagle: The Rebarkable True Story of Meghan Markle’s Rescue Dog.

This cute, illustrated story features a depiction of Guy wearing a crown on the cover. And according to the Twin Cities Pioneer Press, the book follows the little beagle’s story from his time as a rescue until the moment he apparently helped save the royal wedding.

This story is told from Guy’s perspective, which lends the book an adorable air that will have dog lovers falling in love with Markle’s newly royal pup. Whether he is discussing his time before he was adopted by the Duchess or what it was like to try to settle in at Kensington Palace, there is a lot of humor and lightheartedness to this tale.

And yes this story is just as much for the adults, as it is for children. In fact, some of the jokes and humor will most likely appeal to an older crowd, especially when Guy points out, “In England, dogs go to the bathroom on the left side of the hydrant.”

Honestly, we think this story will appeal to a wide audience, from dog lovers to fans of the royal family. Plus, with the book being released in time for the holidays, this might be the perfect stocking stuffer all the way around. Whether you pick this up for yourself or a friend, we think you’ll love this story of a rescue beagle turned royal dog.
