This should go without saying, never leave your dog in your vehicle. Mid-day your car can reach 160 degrees, hot enough to harm or kill. So please, do not leave your dog in the car, even if you’re only away for five minutes. Your dog needs access to water at all times during summer, especially days out in the sun.

Summer is also the season of insects and parasites. Update your dog with their shots.  Take care if your neighborhood is known for poisonous animals.  When taking your dog out for Fourth of July or picnics on the beach, look out for fireworks or pieces of plastic. Particularly, if you have a puppy that loves to get into things.
