Is Toto from The Wizard of Oz the best movie dog ever? (Video)

Throwback Thursday is upon us, so we’re going to the Wayback Machine to remember
Did you know that The Wizard of Oz turned 78 this year? Three generations have been able to experience one of the greatest movies of all-time, and the film is destined to entertain so many more generations more in the years to come.
One of the most memorable parts of the film is (unsurprisingly) Dorothy’s dog, Toto. From the very first time we saw him on screen, she leaped right into our hearts and has never left. From escaping after being taken away from Dorothy to helping guide her and her friends through their journey in Oz. The argument could be made that she’s the best movie dog ever. After all, Toto is an escape artist who survived a tornado, traveled to an alternate reality and fought off flying monkies.
It gets no cooler than that.
Let’s throw it back to 1939 and honor our favorite dimension-jumping Cairn Terrier:
Everyone needs a great companion in their travels, and Dorothy had one of the best in Toto.
