Our first real look at the upcoming Turner & Hooch TV series from Disney Plus has arrived and thanks to this trailer we have an idea of what happened to Tom Hanks’ character. So those of us hoping for a cameo will likely be disappointed.

In the new trailer, we get to see the introduction of a whole new Turner & Hooch partnership. And it also reveals the news that the original Scott Turner has apparently passed away, which is how Scott Turner Jr. ends up with the newest Hooch. (We don’t know how he died yet, but the fact that he did is enough to dash our dreams of a Turner & Turner & Hooch moment.)

And his death in the series means that it is unlikely that we will see Hanks popping up in the new show, unless it is in the form of a flashback. While we wouldn’t mind seeing a flashback, it certainly doesn’t look like there are going to be many chances for one (at least in this season).

So what did we see in this trailer that has us hooked already? Everything!

Turner & Hooch meet and cause mayhem in first trailer for new Disney Plus series

While the introduction between Turner & Hooch doesn’t go that well (poor Scott), it actually doesn’t take long for us to see a duo that belongs together. From solving crimes to causing a lot of damage, this series is truly honoring the classic movie in a way that is fresh, but still respectful of the past.

Not only do we get to see the same kind of fun and madness of the original movie, but in many ways, this is a fresh take on the classic story. And after seeing this new trailer, it looks like we will be tuning in to Disney Plus for the reboot.
